WORKS BEST IN HOT WATER. I followed the directions and added a half cap to my prewash/rinse on the warm/cold setting, then a full cap for a full wash+rinse cycle on hot/warm, followed by a warm/cold extra rinse only (no detergent), and my diapers leaked horribly. We had to buy disposables to use when we were out of the house (I had three children in diapers at the time), and I immediately switched back to my reliable beloved BumGenius POWDER detergent. A few weeks ago I was dismayed to find that they had continued the powder and only sold the liquid. It occurred to me that maybe the detergent wasn't breaking down in the cold water, so I tried my prewash/rinse without any detergent. BINGO! I still have the same routine for washing my diapers, but the only time I add detergent is for the full cap that goes in my HOT/WARM full heavy duty wash+rinse cycle (followed by a non-detergent rinse only cycle). I think this is a great product when used with warm enough water :)
