Making a batch of homemade cleaner costs anywhere from .50 / .75. Comparatively a container of budget generic all purpose cleaner is $6.99. Make a more effective, healthier cleaner for less than the generic, toxic cleaner from the store.
I use Bar Keepers Friend, Seventh Generation All Purpose Cleaner (BEST on glass, stainless steel, etc.) and Seventh Generation dish, dishwasher and laundry (or Whole Foods generic) detergents. (Shop the sales!) With microfiber cleaning cloths it is all I need. Vinegar on drains and tile occasionally. I am super sensitive to harsh products and smells, and these all keep my house it great shape. Plus it makes me feel like I am treading a bit more lightly on planet earth.
